Brazilian coaching duo Victor Gabriel Goncalves and Adilson Silveira have been appointed to spearhead the Reds Volleyball Club’s 2024 Western Australian Volleyball League (WAVL) State League Reserves season.
Goncalves returns for his fifth season at the helm of the State League Reserves Men while Silveira returns to Reds having previously coached with the Club in 2020 and 2021 to lead the State League Reserves Women.
Goncalves will be teaming up with Cameron Edwards and Rachel Trent in the men’s State League program. After helping the Reds Reserves Men to their first championship win in 2022, a tight loss in the Preliminary Final last year has Goncalves hungry to get the team back into the Final this season.
“We are ready for the challenges ahead and am looking forward to this 2024 season.It’s another year to work hard, help and support our players improve their skills and game. I’m very happy to be coaching this group of players once again and share the side of the court with all other coaches,” Goncalves said.

Silveira is looking forward to returning to Reds and getting down to work with the State League Reserves Women and joins Jordan Linton and Michelle (Mic Mic) Laborte in the women’s State League coaching ranks.
“I’m excited to be back with Reds for the 2024 season. The positive vibes and strong commitment to improvement at the club creates an amazing environment. I’m looking forward to another fantastic season and building great memories with the Club,” Silveira said.
Reds Volleyball Club President Anthony Meo was thrilled to welcome Goncalves and Silveira into the State League program for 2024.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have Victor and Adilson part of our WAVL program, both who bring significant experience from Australia and overseas. The pair will provide significant benefit to our program and help our teams achieve great success in 2024,” Meo said.
The WAVL State League season begins on 7 April with the 2024 Reds Selection Trainings commencing on 8 January 2024.
