Reds President, Anthony Meo and State League Head Coach, Josh Court, welcomed the Brazilian to Aquinas College on Monday morning.

Goncalves represented Brazil for six years and has over 14 years professional playing experience in South America and Europe. Victor has recently moved to Perth and is looking forward to joining the Reds.

“I am looking forward to seeing Reds be better day by day and the processes get better – the involvement of people, the structure as a whole, this will be a big challenge for me.”

Meo was excited to welcome Goncalves to the Reds. “Victor’s international playing and management experience will be invaluable for the Reds and will help us to continue to build and grow in 2020.”

The outside hitter was a part of the Brazilian team that won a gold medal at the 2003 World Championships and played for the Montenegrin based Club Budvanska Rivijera that won a Bronze medal in the 2007/2008 Champions League.

Court said that, “Victor will bring some international flare and new ways of approaching the game of volleyball. He speaks about the game passionately and is excited to grow the family culture with the Club.”

Goncalves will join the Reds in a coaching and administrative capacity and will begin his official coaching duties when the Reds Preseason commences in early February. Further announcements regarding the scheduling of the Club’s Preseason will be made later in January.
