Reds Statement on COVID-19

 The Reds have made this decision in the best interests of all players, coaches and other members.

The Club will provide further information on the Western Australian Volleyball League (WAVL) State League, Divisions and Junior League competitions, as this information becomes available. The Club wishes to thank Aquinas College and Volleyball WA for their ongoing support and guidance.

The planned State League and Divisions sessions on Tuesday 17th March and the Junior League Try-Outs on Wednesday 18th March have been cancelled. Athletes and parents will be notified by the Club when trainings can commence.

Reds athletes, coaches, parents and supporters are urged to follow the advice from Volleyball WA relating to COVID-19. The Club asks the Reds community to be:

  • Remain alert but not alarmed;

  • Practice high levels of hygiene as per the Department of Health’s guidelines, including;

    • wash your hands frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.

    • cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

    • if unwell, avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres from people).

    • You do not need to wear a mask if you are healthy.

  • Seek health information from recognised sources such as the World Health Organisation and the Department of Health;

  • Follow the Department of Health Advice about self-isolating which aims to help limit the spread of coronavirus;

  • Isolate yourself if you have:

    • Visited or transited through China, the Republic of Korea, Italy or Iran in the last 14 days;

    • Been in close contact with a proven case of coronavirus, you must isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of contact with the confirmed case.

  • Continue to emphasis sport-specific hygiene by not sharing drink bottles or towels.

Please stay safe and healthy and we look forward to welcoming the Reds family back to the Club in the near future.
